Our aim is for students to participate positively in their learning.
Alternative Provision Providers in Southwest
When students are on site we see calm, happy and confident young people who are participating positively and are engaged in their learning.
They interact politely with staff and other students and build positive relationships. This means that they make good progress, both academically and socially. We want the adults in their lives to say that since attending MIAG they are more settled and happier in life in general. They will have grown in maturity and are displaying more positive behaviours. They will have a new outlook on learning and it has given them a purpose so they are more confident and look forward to their time at the centre. MIAG will have changed their life!
In the future we want students to show emotional stability and a passion for work, in a career that they enjoy and feel valued. The confidence and transferable skills they gained at MIAG has made them a wellrounded young person who is successful and has a positive outlook on life. When they, inevitably, face problems they show resilience and make good decisions around the options available to them.
Every decision we make and each action we take as staff at MIAG must help this dream become a reality!

MIAG have had over 30 students that’s come to MIAG for different reasons, and we have worked with Schools and Local authorities to put them in to mainstream or specialist provision in the last 3 years.
There have been many reasons for disengagement from Education and MIAG Staff have been very creative in how to engage with the students and to work with them to engage them back slowly into Education with a different outlook from the school environment.
Over the last 2 years we have had 8 Students moved onto Apprenticeships and work experience and MIAG will now be looking to expand this offer to year 11 students who do not want to do alternative route of College.
