Qualifications

Here at MIAG we believe that our young people can achieve a good range of qualifications that will prepare them for the work of adulthood, including readiness for work and independent living. All of our young people have a bespoke package of support when they come and join the MIAG family, this ensures that their learning is tailored to their academic ability, focuses on their aspirations and interest and ensures that they achieve relevant qualifications.

We are an accredited NOCN (National Open College Network) centre and that majority of our qualifications are delivered as part of our partnership with NOCN.

NOCN is an international charity which delivers future-fit skills solutions with social impact for Colleges, Training Providers, Employers and Individuals. The qualifications available include end point assessments, assured courses, competence cards and tests and short online courses which are all designed to provide individual guided learning hours (GLH) for our learners.

Our partnership with NOCN is aimed to ensure that our young people reach their full potential and can thrive for improved productivity, sustainability, social mobility and inclusivity.

All of our learners are required to undertake functional skills studies as part of their bespoke package with English and Maths offered from Entry Level 3 to Level 2. Alongside this our learners will choose a range of courses that interest them in order to gain qualifications which will be supplemented by an Enrichment Programme.

Our current offer includes:

  • Construction
  • Farming
  • Hair & Beauty
  • Graphic Designs/Media Studies
  • Hospitality

The beauty of working with NOCN is having access to 100’s of qualifications, so if a learner has an interest in an area that is currently not within our offer we will work hard to facilitate the course and the associated qualifications.

You can find out more about NOCN by visiting their website: NOCN.org.uk

In addition to the above offer, our Football Programme follows the ASDAN (Awards Scheme Development and Accreditation Network), this is 60 hour qualification and further information is available here (insert link to football programme).
